"Bergères" byVanessa Chambard
I have three friends. They are amazing, and they are shepherdesses.
After photographing them so much, I wanted to go to the mountains with the sheep myself. And that's how I started herding.
Becoming a shepherdess was a way for me to carve out a space of freedom in a world that felt too narrow.
But at a time when forests are burning endlessly, this space is fragile and the terrain rugged.
Combining text and photography, I offer an intimate account that goes beyond pastoralism to address broader issues such as ecology, gender, and work.

June 6, 2025 - June 14, 2025
12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Come and discover a double exhibition dedicated to the beauty of botany and the Jardin des Plantes!

It was by observing the landscapes of Languedoc since childhood that Françoise Olivier developed her love for nature. When she discovered watercolor painting, she wanted to convey her vision of her world. A mixture of pigments and water, watercolor painting, which appears simple in technique, owes its difficulty to the lightness and speed of its execution. It is an unpredictable form of painting. In these infinite mixtures of colors linked to water, Françoise Olivier expresses her perception of the plant environment that she never ceases to discover.

Through a dialogue between scientific observation and creative imagination, Laurent Baylet's impressions on canvas reveal how nature, the primary source of inspiration, becomes material for transformation and can break free from the constraints of reality, exploring the porous boundaries between documentation and interpretation.

For this exhibition, plants become a pretext for broader reflection on our relationship with the natural world. They invite us to consider that artistic representation can express a deeper reality about our relationship with the environment and our own nature.
