A large-scale ceremony was organized to mark the 800th anniversary of the world's oldest medical school. The event was a convivial occasion that brought together teachers, students, university figures, and local and regional authorities.

  • PRESENTATION OF THE CEREMONY

    Presentation of the ceremonial mace and reading of the statutes of the University of Medicine of Montpellier enacted in 1220:
    The ceremonial mace is carried by the current usher, Eddy Lamou, and presented by Professor Gérald Chanques, secretary general and spokesperson for COPIL. The statutes are read by Allan Guilliey, student, and Professor Valérie Rigau.
