Training Organization

The training program leading to the speech-language pathologist certification is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills, as described in Appendix 2, necessary to practice as a speech-language pathologist. It is recommended that practicing professionals deliver at least 50% of the total instructional hours. The curriculum takes into account advances in the field.

The learning objectives, course content, and assessment methods are described in the course descriptions for each course unit (UE).

These documents are made available to students. Each course unit is assigned a number of European credits.

The role of course units within the curriculum framework facilitates connections between them and supports students' learning progression.

INTERNSHIPS

SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY INTERNSHIPS AND STUDIES

Clinical training (internships) plays a key role in your initial training (you will complete more than 2,000 hours of internships, compared to approximately 3,000 hours of lectures and guided instruction).

  • 3 "Introductory" internships (Courses 6.1, 6.2, 6.3)
  • 1 "Observation" internship (Course Unit 6.4)
  • 4 clinical rotations (Courses 6.5, 6.6, 6.7, 6.8)
  • 1 "Research" internship (UE 6.9)

The organization of these courses is subject to a number of rules set forth below.

This portfolio will accompany you throughout your training; it is your responsibility to take good care of it. You must present it to each internship supervisor at the start of each internship so that they can review the procedures for organizing and validating the internship. Before each internship, you must contact the internship supervisor and, if necessary, send them a cover letter and a request for an interview.
