NEW COURSE: INTERPERSONAL SKILLS AND THERAPEUTIC COMMUNICATION

Born out of the requirements of the R2C but also from the Faculty’s strong and committed desire to provide students with tools that enable them to better understand the patient-caregiver relationship, the new “Interpersonal Skills” course represents a true pedagogical innovation. Launched in 2021–22, it is innovative in the vision it offers: improving students’ individual well-being to enhance their professional interpersonal skills.

MORE THAN JUST A DEPARTMENT

A PROGRAM DESIGNED TO SPAN THE ENTIRE DURATION OF THE MEDICAL DEGREE PROGRAM

To achieve this twofold objective, the EU relies on four key pillars:

  • An Introduction to Meditation

  • SHARING OF BEST PRACTICES

  • THERAPEUTIC COMMUNICATION

  • COMBATING STIGMA IN HEALTHCARE

The EU curriculum is divided into several “modules” that are taught over the five years following the PASS/LAS. Depending on the nature of the subject matter, instruction is spread out over several years or delivered all at once. Small-group workshops are encouraged to facilitate student participation and interaction.
