  • OVERVIEW

    The REHAB track of the Master’s in Health program aims to train researchers in the field of Rehabilitation from an interdisciplinary perspective. It is a health research program specifically focused on reducing sensorimotor impairments, compensating for activity limitations related to these impairments, and reducing associated disabilities.

    This two-year program is open to students in the health sciences, students in the natural sciences, and students in the physical and sports sciences and technology.

    The REHAB track of the Master’s in Health consists of a common first-year (M1) program offered by the Faculty of Medicine and two second-year (M2) sub-tracks:

    •MAP Track: Movement, Learning, and Plasticity
    •HAT Track: Disability, Autonomy, and Technology

The educational content of the REHAB program focuses on:

• The Importance of an Interdisciplinary Approach to Health

• The importance of fundamental scientific knowledge essential to research in the field of rehabilitation and disability prevention

• Acquiring the methodological, theoretical, and practical knowledge necessary to develop high-quality research strategies aimed at improving the health of the population and reducing neuromusculoskeletal disability

• An understanding of the complex challenges involved in the evolution of health care systems, taking into account both societal and technological issues

AUDIENCES

Initial and Continuing Education

Admission to Master’s Year 1: Students must hold a bachelor’s degree or a diploma equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
Admission to Master’s Year 2: Students must have successfully completed one year of Master’s Year 1 or its equivalent.

International audience

Admission to the first year of the master’s program: Students must hold a bachelor’s degree or a diploma equivalent to a bachelor’s degree, as attested by an official document

Admission to the second year of the Master’s program: Students must have successfully completed the first year of the Master’s program or its equivalent, as evidenced by an official document

– The REHAB Master’s program is open to international students who must demonstrate a minimum C1 level of proficiency in French

  • Required education(s)

    The Master’s program is open to students as part of their initial training starting in the third year of a health-related degree program. As a continuing education program, it is designed for healthcare providers, physicians, and social and education professionals. The following individuals may apply, subject to meeting educational or experience requirements:

    Admission to Master’s Year 1: Students must hold a bachelor’s degree or a diploma equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
    Admission to Master’s Year 2: Students must have successfully completed one year of Master’s Year 1 or its equivalent.
    Students from the medical track (DES residents, licensed physicians, or surgeons), students from the physical therapy track (students or licensed physical therapists), and health science students with a Master’s-level degree (Advanced Practice Nurses) may complete the Master 1 in Health after successfully completing two core courses (10 ECTS) and a one-month internship (10 ECTS).

    The master’s program is available as a dual-degree program for all of the following fields:
    – DES MPR residents, or residents in other specialties
    – Physicians or surgeons with a doctoral degree
    – Engineers with a degree or currently in training
    – Physical therapists with a degree or currently in training
    – Certified occupational therapists or those currently in training
    – Certified psychomotor therapists or those currently in training
    – Certified physical education teachers, dual-degree program only (second Master’s degree)
    – Certified nurses or those currently in training

  • Admission Requirements - Applications

    Applications for the First Year of the Master's Program

    Students and those returning to school will be able to access the full range of master’s degree programs offered by the Montpellier-Nîmes Faculty of Medicine through the new, unified national platform, Mon Master: monmaster.gouv.fr

    Note: Expected English proficiency level: C1

    Applicants must go directly to the platform to apply for the first year of the master's program (limited to 15 applications per major)

    February 2, 2026 Launch of the "Mon Master" one-stop platform and viewing of available programs
    February 17 through March 16, 2026 Submission of Applications
    March 21 through June 2, 2026 Review of Applications by the Institution
    June 3–16, 2026 Main Admissions Phase
    June 19 through July 19, 2026 Supplementary Admission Phase
