The Arnaud de Villeneuve Health Campus

To the north of the city stands the new Arnaud de Villeneuve Health Campus. Home to all health sciences students enrolled in the School of Medicine, it consists of two main buildings: the UPM (Medical Teaching Unit) and the modern building. The UPM houses the Health Sciences Library and a large 360-seat lecture hall. As for the new building, it features lecture halls and classrooms fully equipped for recording and live-streaming lectures, a practical training lab for high- and low-fidelity simulations, simulators for laparoscopic surgery, microsurgery, and endoscopy, and a brand-new anatomy lab.

The Historic Building

The Historic Building, a former abbey adjacent to St. Peter’s Cathedral, has been home to the Faculty’s students since 1795! Within its walls, our future healthcare professionals enjoy a unique and prestigious learning environment, following in the footsteps of the greatest names in Montpellier’s medical history, such as Jeanbreau, Hédon, and Loubatières. At their disposal are dedicated study rooms; a listed lecture hall and library, featuring a large collection of both modern and antique works; and the famous Salle des Actes, where even today all future doctors take the Hippocratic Oath while wearing their distinctive red gowns…
