Graduation Ceremony for Sixth-Year Medical Students

On Saturday, September 28, 2024, the School of Medicine held a graduation ceremony for its sixth-year students in its Historic Building.

The students' families were welcomed throughout the morning by our professors François Bonnel, Gérald Chanques, Jean-Pierre Dedet, Olivier Jonquet, Thierry Lavabre-Bertrand, and Valérie Rigau, as well as by Dr. Christophe Bonnel, for a guided tour of the faculty’s historic building.

The ceremonial halls (Council and Acts), the Orfila Museum, the anatomy amphitheater, the dissection room, and the forecourt were presented in detail.

A big thank you to the Association Nouveaux Internes Montpellier-Nîmes (ANIMN), which handled the reception and organization of the groups, while Medley prepared the afternoon ceremony at the Jardin des Plantes.

Throughout the day, Mr. Philippe Augé, President of the University of Montpellier; Ms. Isabelle Laffont, Dean of the Montpellier-Nîmes Faculty of Medicine; Mr. Michaël Delafosse, Mayor of Montpellier; Professor Mougeot de Champleur, representing the French Medical Association; the top students from Montpellier and Nîmes, Yassine El Abouyi and Arthur Pommier, and finally Yasmine El Marrouni, President of ANIMN (Association of New Residents of Montpellier-Nîmes), honored this exceptional graduating class of 266 students.

This is the first time a class has been named; it is named after Glafira Ziegelmann to honor her human and professional values.

These new interns are serving as ambassadors for our school throughout France, and we are extremely proud of their achievements!
