25th Medical Gala—did you guess who would receive the orange cap?

On Friday, March 1, 2024, the medical student association held its traditional gala at the Château de Pouget.

The theme? A romance in Seville. With a floral arch and a horse-drawn carriage to welcome you, the experience was truly immersive.

The excellent buffet was accompanied by a Spanish music ensemble, and the red of the fans handed out rivaled the colors of the students’ evening attire.

The event began with brief remarks from the students and the Dean, followed by the presentation of a beautiful bouquet of flowers to Ms. Meyer in recognition of her attendance at her 17th and final gala. It was only the beginning of an emotional evening…

Next, the conclusion of the Seville story was screened, followed by a high-energy dance performance by the fraternity members.

Finally, Professor Antonio Lopez—the creator of the orange cap himself and its holder for the past year—regretfully returned it so that it could be handed over to the new year’s professor.

So? Did you guess that a woman would receive this coveted award?

Professor Laurence Lachaud, who was both surprised and moved, seemed deeply touched by this well-deserved recognition.

After that, Medley got the dance floor packed with students from Montpellier and Nîmes fired up, and the party went on until the wee hours…

Thank you once again to all the organizations that took part in this wonderful evening, and especially to Rose and the entire 2023–2024 student council team. This was another gala that will go down in history.

Here are a few photos.
