Awarding of the 2025 Tronc-Chanal Scholarship

On Friday, October 24, 2025, two scholarships were awarded to Coralie Roche and Antoine Mathivet, two medical students at our faculty, in the presence of Dean Isabelle Laffont and the Foundation’s President, Christine Tronc-Chanal.

The graduate school was represented by Ms. Patricia Reboul; also in attendance were Professor François Carbonnel, several residents, the representative of the Languedoc-Roussillon Residents’ Union, Mr. Illies Ouhab, as well as the families and friends of the graduates.

What is the purpose of the Tronc Chanal Foundation?

The Tronc-Chanal Foundation, under the umbrella of Fondation de France, supports students studying French literature and language as well as medicine. Its goal is to provide one-time financial assistance to students who are already well advanced in their studies, enabling them to strive for excellence.

In line with its dual mission, the Foundation awards, each year, a prize of 2,000 euros to a recent Ph.D. graduate in the humanities and two scholarships of 1,000 euros each to two medical residents at our faculty.

The two students from the Montpellier-Nîmes School of Medicine should be admitted to the residency program and wish to pursue a specialty at a university other than ours.
