Welcome ceremony for new arrivals and retirement ceremony
On Tuesday, September 30, a ceremony was held to welcome new arrivals and thank retirees.
The Dean and the President of the University began this important moment in the life of the faculty with a few words.
For their retirement, Professor Michel KOENIG, Genetics (Molecular Genetics and Cytogenomics Department based in Montpellier) and Ms. Antonia Roussel (executive secretary in the General Affairs Department, based in Montpellier) received a medal and the book "La Faculté de Médecine de Montpellier" (The Montpellier Faculty of Medicine), edited by Professor Robert Dumas.
Then the new arrivals were named in turn:
- Kévin MOUZAT in biochemistry and molecular biology assigned to Nîmes (biochemistry and molecular biology laboratory).
- Mireille COSSEE in genetics assigned to Montpellier (molecular genetics and cytogenomics department).
- Gaëtan POULEN in neurosurgery assigned to Montpellier (neurosurgery department).
- Arthur GAVOTTO in pediatrics assigned to Montpellier (neonatal pediatrics and intensive care unit and pediatric emergency medical service).
- Noémie RANISAVLJEVIC in biology and developmental and reproductive medicine; medical gynecology assigned to Montpellier (gynecology-obstetrics department).
- François CARBONNEL in General Medicine (Department of General Medicine)
- Christophe MILESI in pediatrics assigned to Montpellier (neonatal intensive care unit and pediatric emergency medical service)
- Jean-Baptiste BONNET in nutrition assigned to Montpellier (nutrition-diabetes department).
- Eric MARTINEZ, Head of the HU Personnel Management Department and Other Personnel assigned to Montpellier.
- Katarina NOVAKOVIC-LAIGRE, Administrator at the Graduate Studies Office, assigned to Montpellier.
- Sophie BIRUKOFF, Office Manager (Master's and International Relations Office – Undergraduate and Graduate Academic Services) assigned to Montpellier.
- Jemima RUSHTON, Academic Affairs Manager (Master's and International Relations Office – Undergraduate and Graduate Academic Affairs Department) assigned to Montpellier.

Finally, and for the first time, the ceremony was the scene of a toga passing.
Professor Philippe Lambert, retired professor of general medicine and holder of the faculty's first general medicine gown, presented it to the new professor of general medicine, François Carbonnel.
It is moments like these that reinforce the humanistic spirit of the faculty and make it what it is!
A convivial moment brought together many of the faculty's departments, the administration, vice deans, emeritus professors, and teachers in the Cour d'Honneur.
