Welcoming ceremony for new arrivals and retirements

On Tuesday, September 30, a ceremony was held to welcome new arrivals and thank retirees.

The Dean and the President of the University opened the event with a few words.

On the occasion of their retirement, Professor Michel KOENIG, Genetics (Molecular Genetics and Cytogenomics Department, based in Montpellier) and Madame Antonia Roussel (Executive Secretary, General Affairs Department, based in Montpellier), received a medal and the book "La Faculté de Médecine de Montpellier", written under the direction of Professor Robert Dumas.

Then the new arrivals were named in turn:

  • Kévin MOUZAT in biochemistry and molecular biology, based in Nîmes (biochemistry and molecular biology laboratory).
  • Mireille COSSEE in genetics, based in Montpellier (molecular genetics and cytogenomics department).
  • Gaëtan POULEN in neurosurgery, based in Montpellier (neurosurgery department).
  • Arthur GAVOTTO in pediatrics based in Montpellier (neonatal pediatrics and intensive care unit and pediatric SMUR).
  • Noémie RANISAVLJEVIC in developmental and reproductive biology and medicine; medical gynecology, based in Montpellier (gynecology-obstetrics department).
  • François CARBONNEL in General Medicine (Department of General Medicine)
  • Christophe MILESI in pediatrics, based in Montpellier (pediatric neonatal intensive care unit and pediatric SMUR)
  • Jean-Baptiste BONNET in nutrition, based in Montpellier (nutrition-diabetes department).
  • Eric MARTINEZ, Head of Service de Gestion des Personnels HU et Autres Personnels, based in Montpellier.
  • Katarina NOVAKOVIC-LAIGRE, Manager, 3rd Cycle Office, based in Montpellier.
  • Sophie BIRUKOFF, Head of Office (Masters and IR Office - 1st and 2nd Cycle Schooling Department) based in Montpellier.
  • Jemima RUSHTON, Registrar (Masters and IR Office - 1st and 2nd cycle Registrar Service) based in Montpellier.
  • Jennifer LEPETIT, Gestionnaire de Scolarité (Bureau de la PASS - Service Scolarité 1er et 2ème cycles) based in Montpellier.

Finally, for the first time, the ceremony featured a toga handover.

Pr Philippe Lambert, retired University Professor of General Medicine and holder of the faculty's first General Medicine gown, presented it to the new Professor of General Medicine, François Carbonnel.

It's moments like this that reinforce the faculty's humanist spirit, and make it what it is!

A convivial gathering in the Cour d'Honneur was attended by a number of faculty departments, management, vice-deans, emeritus professors and teachers.
