Welcome Ceremony for New Employees and Retirement Ceremony
On Tuesday, September 30, a ceremony was held to welcome new employees and thank retiring employees.
The Dean and the University President opened this highlight of faculty life with a few words.
Upon their retirement, Professor Michel KOENIG of the Department of Genetics (Division of Molecular Genetics and Cytogenomics, based in Montpellier) and Ms. Antonia Roussel (executive secretary in the General Affairs Division, based in Montpellier) were presented with a medal and a copy of the book *La Faculté de Médecine de Montpellier*, edited by Professor Robert Dumas.
Then the new arrivals were introduced one by one:
- Kévin MOUZAT in biochemistry and molecular biology, assigned to Nîmes (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Laboratory).
- Mireille COSSEE in clinical genetics in Montpellier (Department of Molecular Genetics and Cytogenomics).
- Gaëtan POULEN in neurosurgery, assigned to Montpellier (Department of Neurosurgery).
- Arthur GAVOTTO in pediatrics, assigned to Montpellier (Neonatal and Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Emergency Medical Service).
- Noémie RANISAVLJEVIC in developmental and reproductive biology and medicine; medical gynecology, assigned to Montpellier (Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology).
- François CARBONNEL in General Practice (Department of General Practice)
- Christophe MILESI, a pediatrician based in Montpellier (Neonatal and Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Emergency Medical Service)
- Jean-Baptiste BONNET in the field of nutrition, based in Montpellier (Nutrition and Diabetes Department).
- Eric MARTINEZ, Head of the Human Resources Management Department for Hospital Staff and Other Personnel assigned to Montpellier.
- Katarina NOVAKOVIC-LAIGRE, Administrator in the Graduate Studies Office, based in Montpellier.

Finally, and for the first time, the ceremony featured a robe-passing ceremony.
Professor Philippe Lambert, a retired university professor of general medicine and the recipient of the faculty’s first academic gown for general medicine, presented it to the new professor of general medicine, François Carbonnel.
It’s moments like this that reinforce the faculty’s humanistic spirit and make it what it is!
A convivial gathering brought together numerous faculty departments, the administration, associate deans, professors emeritus, and faculty members in the Cour d’Honneur.
