Starting the first year of health studies can seem daunting, both in terms of the demands involved and the many stereotypes that surround it. That's why our tutoring service is there to support students throughout the year, from the pre-entry course to the orals.
The pre-entry course is an excellent opportunity to get your bearings, find out how the year works and familiarize yourself with the different courses. It takes place on all three campuses - Arnaud de Villeneuve, Carémeau and Flahault - in collaboration with the various tutorates (ATSM, TSN and ATP respectively).
Why take part in the pre-school course?
For PASS :
This internship is your first immersion in higher education. It allows you to discover the faculty environment, meet other students and make the transition from high school to first year.
The program includes a first approach to the first semester's courses, enabling students to tackle them more confidently later on. Tutors will be on hand for sessions on chemistry/biochemistry, genome and genetics, cell biology, human and general physiology, human and social sciences, drugs and other health products. The tutors are students in their third year of health studies. During these sessions, PASS students will be able to discover and practice MCQs, the format of the vast majority of the year's exams. To round off the course, a colloquium is organized on the final day. This is a first training session that allows students to discover the conditions of a PASS exam, including exam grids, time limits, rooms and grading.
In addition to the pedagogical aspect, students will have the opportunity to ask the tutors about the year ahead... As the tutors are students from the health sector, they have lived through this complicated year and will be able to share their own experience.
First-year students can also benefit from methodological advice, to help them discover their own working methods. They will also be given advice on well-being, to help them get to grips with this year: student well-being is very important to our tutoring team. Finally, students will receive explanations on the REES (*Reforme d'Entrée dans les Études de Santé).
To take part in this course, you must first be registered for tutoring, which is free of charge. The SPR costs 17.50 euros for PASS students (price of handouts).
