In Montpellier, anatomy of humanistic medicine – Arte

Watch Arte's report on humanism at the Montpellier Nîmes Faculty of Medicine, featuring, in order of appearance, Professors Gérald Chanques, Isabelle Laffont, and Thierry Lavabre Bertrand, as well as Caroline Ducourau and a large number of students.

You will discover all the places where medicine has been taught in Montpellier over the years with Professor Chanques, on a stroll through the city (from the Hôtel Saint Côme to the narrow streets of the Écusson district), the historic building with its legendary rooms, and the Jardin des Plantes.

The Dean talks to us about thesis defenses, academic robes, and the Camille exhibition in the dissection room.

Ms. Ducourau and Professor Lavabre Bertrand explain the contributions of the anatomy conservatory and the Jardin des Plantes to medical education.

Thank you to the many students who explained their heritage and traditions to journalists over a drink, a stethoscope, the Rabelais monument, or their artistic project Camille, giving them a glimpse into student life in Montpellier.
