Preparation for oral exams through tutoring

With the advent of the PASS/LAS reform, a new exam has been created to select students who will move on to the second year of health studies: oral exams.

In line with the ongoing preparation offered by the Montpellier-Nîmes Health Tutoring Program, special training for oral exams is organized by the associations to optimize students' chances of success in this test.

This second group of tests consists of two oral exams, each lasting 10 minutes, comprising a 5-minute presentation and 5 minutes of questions with the jury, preceded by 20 minutes of personal preparation on the subject. The first test consists of reflection on a health ethics topic, requiring students to critically analyze a current medical issue. The second test, the complex health question, invites students to analyze an iconographic document.

CONTENT OF THE TUTORING PREPARATION

During the week of June 12-18, 2024, and over four 2-hour sessions, they will be supervised by second- and third-year tutors in medicine, midwifery, pharmacy, and dentistry, who have been selected and trained by faculty members. These sessions will take place in small groups to encourage discussion and interaction between first-year students and tutors.

The program is detailed on the Associations' social media accounts.
