A Look Back at the 2024 Science Days at the INSERM Liliane Bettencourt School

Two hundred students enrolled in dual-degree programs, from all over France, spent three days at the historic building of the Montpellier-Nîmes Faculty of Medicine.

The President of Philippe Augé University, the Dean of the Faculty, Isabelle Laffont, the President of INSERM, Didier Samuel, and Armand de Boissière—Secretary General of the Liliane Bettencourt Foundation—welcomed them on Friday morning at the Théatrum Anatomicum

These events give them the opportunity to present and discuss their research—and to get together!

A massive game, “Boyard University,” was organized by the Rabelais student association under the leadership of Quentin Tourdot, with the assistance of Professors Gérald Chanques and Stéphan Matécki, among others. Surrounded by the Platter brothers, Rabelais, and Chaptal, the students explored our cultural heritage through a journey that combined puzzles and chess matches as they moved through the building’s prestigious halls.

Everyone ended the evening at MOCO Panacée, formerly the city’s first medical school.

The Botanical Garden was no exception, as it hosted a photo contest, and Professor John de Vos led guided tours there for those eager to learn more.

Jean-Philippe PIN, a research director at the CNRS, gave a lecture, followed by a jazz concert by the OSEM that got the crowd going in the Atrium.

It was a lovely weekend.

Here are a few photos.
