The 2026–2027 PASS/LAS Pre-Semester Workshop

The first year of health studies is a challenging. The tutoring program is designed to support students throughout this year, from the pre-semester orientation to preparation for oral exams, both academically and in other areas

The tutoring programs at the Flahault, Carémeau, and Arnaud de Villeneuve campuses (ATP, TSN, and ATSM, respectively) are helping to organize the event.

The Pre-School Year Workshop for PASS Students

The Pre-School Reopening Workshop is a good transition between high school and the Parcours d’Accès Spécifique Santé (PASS) program through a gradual into into university life by discovering and becoming familiar with the college environment.

It offers a real opportunity to gain a overview of the first semester so that prepare for the start of the school year with confidence. That is why sessions covering the curricula in Chemistry and Biochemistry, Genomics and Genetics, Cell Biology, Human and General Physiology, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Medications and Other Health Products, and introduce the core coursework for the first semester. This comprehensive overview of essential concepts is supplemented by practice exercises in the form of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) designed to help students understand the learning objectives of each course unit (UE) and become familiar with this assessment format, which is used for most exams throughout the year.

The sessions are taught by qualified tutors who are third-year students in medicine, midwifery, pharmacy, or dentistry—students who have also gone through their first year. They will be able to share their advice, particularly during the sessions on study skills and well-being.

Finally, PASS students will receive explanations about the Reform for Entry into Health Studies (REES).

The Back-to-School Workshop concludes with a joint exam covering the six subjects covered during the two-week camp. The goal is to practice under real-world conditions, particularly with regard to exam formats, time limits, testing rooms, and grading. The test results in no way reflect how the coming school year will go and provide an opportunity to adjust one’s study habits.

This workshop is therefore an opportunity to build self-confidence, as well as to find your approach and pace of work. It also allows you to have meetings to support one another throughout the year—even forming working groups—as well as to discuss their own experiences with mentors.

To participate in the PASS Pre-School Year Workshop, you must first be registered for the Tutoring Program. Registration is free and open year-round ! The cost of the Back-to-School Prep Course is €17.50, which covers the cost of printing the handouts and the various activities offered. It takes place in in-person from Monday, August 17, through Friday, August 28, 2026 with a group study session at the end of the course on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the respective locations of the three associations, namely:

The Pre-School Year Workshop for LAS Students

The Pre-Semester Workshop is also offered to students in the Bachelor’s in Health Sciences (LAS) program. It helps students become familiar with health minor and to understand its requirements.

The internship is conducted entirely online and consists of three courses of the Joint Health Studies Unit (UESC) for the first semester: Human and General Physiology (PHG), Humanities and Social Sciences (SHS), and Medications and Other Health Products (MAPS). These course sessions are taught by qualified tutors—third-year students in medicine, midwifery, pharmacy, or dentistry—who have also gone through this first year themselves. They provide an opportunity to practice with multiple-choice questions (MCQs), the assessment format used for the subjects in the health minor. The methodology and well-being are also topics covered in sessions during which tutors share their experiences.

Finally, LAS students will receive explanations about the Reform for Entry into Health Studies (REES).

The Back-to-School Workshop concludes with a group make-up session, also held online, covering the three Constitutive Teachings of the Teaching Unit (ECUE). It provides an opportunity to practice and adapt one’s method going forward.

To participate in the LAS Pre-School Year Workshop, you must first be registered for the Tutoring Program. Registration is free and open year-round
