2024 Educational Seminar

On Friday, June 28, 2024, the Montpellier-Nîmes Faculty of Medicine held its annual educational seminar at Mas Merlet in Nîmes. The day, which was filled with discussions and reflection, brought together faculty members, several student representatives, and faculty staff for three workshops.

The day began at 9:00 a.m. with the official opening of the seminar by the Dean of the faculty, Professor Isabelle Laffont, who presented a review of the past year.

Following a plenary session devoted to scientific updates, the University Diploma in Environmental Management (HU) presented by Michel Mondain, Honorary Dean, an update on Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD), a presentation of the Educational Engineering and Audiovisual Production Service (SIPPA), and Artificial Intelligence in the Faculty of Medicine, the morning continued with thematic workshops allowing participants to explore the topics discussed in greater depth. Among the workshops were:

Toward a New Approach to Teaching (Hybrid Learning), presented by Maha Badreddine, Associate Dean; Professor Denis Morin; Professor Xavier Ayrignac; and Dr. François Carbonnel.

Research training and support: Health data warehouses, theses, the Tremplin program, and the Pari program, presented by Professor Stephan Matecki, Professor Nicolas Nagot, and Professor Arnaud Bourdin, Vice Dean in charge of relations with the Clinical Research and Innovation Offices (DRCI) of the Montpellier and Nîmes University Hospitals, liaison with the Committee for Biomedical and Public Health Research (CRBSP) and promotion of the Montpellier-Nîmes University Hospital Federations, Professor Samir Jaber, and Professor Jean-Philippe Lavigne, Vice-Dean of the Nîmes Campus.

Generative AI in Practice, presented by Dr. David Morquin, Professor Nadine Houédé, Associate Dean, and Dr. Frédéric Fiteni.

Chairman Philippe Augé spoke about the projects that have been completed and provided details on those currently underway or planned for the future.

The afternoon was set aside for the faculty’s tenured faculty meeting.

The extremely sunny day, with temperatures exceeding 38°C in the shade, allowed everyone to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere.
