Pep’s Days: Four Events Dedicated to the Well-Being of First-Year Students

Pep’s Days are events organized at the start of the second semester and designed entirely with the well-being of first-year students in mind. This year, they will take place on Tuesdays, February 3 and 10, as well as on Thursdays, February 5 and 12, during the students’ lunch breaks.

At this pivotal time of year—often marked by fatigue, stress, and anxiety about first-semester grades—these breaks are designed to give PASS and LAS students opportunities to socialize and relax. They allow students to take a breather, spend time together, talk with their tutors, and feel supported during this challenging period.

Pep’s Days are designed to foster social connections and promote mental and physical well-being. Many of the faculty’s student organizations participate in the event each year by leading a variety of workshops. Their participation not only offers free activities but also introduces first-year students to the rich array of student organizations available.

Among the most popular activities are social gatherings such as board games and lunch-and-chat sessions, which provide an opportunity to talk with tutors. Other workshops are also offered, such as stress management and cardiac coherence sessions led by professional sophrologists, as well as group sports activities organized by the faculty’s sports association (ASMM).

One workshop that is eagerly anticipated every year is the one where physical therapy students offer massages on a volunteer basis. It perfectly exemplifies the spirit of Pep’s Days: mutual support, solidarity, and kindness among programs and students.

Through the variety of its workshops, the supportive atmosphere it fosters, and the connections it helps create, the Pep’s Days event is fully aligned with an approach aimed at supporting first-year students. It serves as a reminder that this challenging year is not just about academic work, but also about well-being, mutual support, and sharing.
