High School Students' Week: A Structured Immersion in the World of Health Studies

High School Students’ Week is a support program designed for students in their second, first, and final years of high school who wish to better understand health-related fields of study, particularly the PASS and LAS tracks. This year, it will take place from Monday, February 23, to Friday, February 27, 2026.

Led by dedicated students from the Montpellier Health Tutoring Association, this project aims to provide clear and accessible information to help high school students make the most informed career decisions possible.

An information and projection system:

The transition from high school to higher education is a crucial step. Health-related fields of study, in particular, raise many questions about how they are structured, their requirements, and career opportunities.

High School Students’ Week addresses these challenges by providing a detailed overview of how the PASS and LAS tracks work, clarifying assessment procedures and career guidance options, shedding light on academic and methodological expectations, and offering support in choosing the specializations to pursue starting in the 11th grade.

Overview of the High School Students' Week Program:

Overview of the PASS and LAS tracks:

An introductory session will provide an overview of the PASS/LAS reform to help students better understand it. Topics covered will include the structure of the program, the course schedule, the grading system, the various transfer options, and even potential career paths.

An Overview of the Subjects Taught:

Specific orientation sessions are dedicated to the subjects covered in the first year of health studies. These sessions provide a practical overview of the course content and the expected academic standards, helping students better prepare for their first year in the PASS/LAS program.

They pertain to the courses that follow one another within a course unit:

  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Medications and Other Health Products
  • General Human Physiology for All High School Students

As well as the course units (for seniors only):

  • Cell Biology
  • Physics and Biophysics
  • Biostatistics
  • Craniofacial Complex
  • Chemistry and Biochemistry
  • Genome and Genetics

 Q&A Session and Frequently Asked Questions:

This is a session dedicated to discussion, allowing high school students to freely ask questions. The students share their experiences, study strategies, challenges, and tips for the PASS/LAS program.

An in-person immersion program at the university:

An in-person session is being organized at the faculty. High school students have the opportunity to attend a tutoring session, during which a PASS/LAS course and sample multiple-choice questions will be covered! This immersive experience allows them to explore the university environment, observe how a tutoring session works, and envision their future life as a college student.

An opportunity for families and education professionals:

High School Students’ Week also includes information sessions for parents and teachers. These sessions are designed to explain how the PASS and LAS tracks work and to provide reliable guidance to effectively support students as they explore their options.

Thus, participating in High School Students' Week allows you to:

  • Have access to structured and up-to-date information;
  • Understanding the actual requirements of health studies;
  • Talk with students;
  • Refine Your Career Plan!

Through the diversity of its content and the dedication of its participants, High School Students’ Week serves as a vital tool for helping future college students chart their academic paths.
