years of history

Now 800 years old since August 17, 2020, the Montpellier-Nîmes Faculty of Medicine is the oldest medical school in the world. Medical education in Montpellier began in the early 12th century, outside of any institutional framework. After seeing some of the greatest minds pass through its doors, including Rabelais, Lapeyronie, Jeanbrau, and Loubatières, the Faculty continues its mission today to train the healthcare professionals of tomorrow, while remaining at the forefront of the latest medical technologies.
