A wellness week for PASS and LAS students

To wrap up the exams for the first semester and help students better prepare for the second, the Montpellier Health Tutoring Association (ATSM) is organizing the 2022 edition of Pep’s Week for PASS and LAS students!

Winner of the Montpellier Student Initiative Award from 2018 to 2020 and highly popular among students, Pep’s Week is a project that is very close to our hearts, and we hope to bring it back this year under the name “Pep’s Week.”

This week is dedicated to the well-being and relaxation of first-year students (PASS and LAS). To this end, the ATSM is organizing numerous activities in partnership with students from various programs to best support first-year students by providing them with psychological and academic support. Promoting this sense of well-being is a key objective, one that has become essential since the start of the health crisis.

The 2022 edition, January 24–28

Pep’s Week will take place from January 24 to 28, 2022. During this week, the ATSM will host a variety of activities every lunchtime at the Montpellier Faculty of Medicine on the ADV Campus (641 Avenue du Doyen Gaston Giraud), featuring qualified speakers and opportunities for students and tutors to interact and share ideas.

For this new edition, the theme is “Japan”; participants will receive a Welcome Pack filled with exclusive goodies related to ATSM’s partnerships.

Here is the detailed schedule for the week:

Understanding the Results

To fully understand the acronyms and analyze your results, see the help section below:

If the result shows "ADAC," it means you have been admitted before the selection process; "LC" stands for "supplementary list." However, for the Medicine and Midwifery programs, if the result shows "LC" even though you are admitted to Medicine or Midwifery when you check the ranking list (ADMP), this is due to the existence of two training sites. Since allocation is based on merit, you must therefore list these programs in your prioritized choices in accordance with the procedure specified in the attached document.

On the list: ADMP = admitted prior to program selection in the medical or midwifery program, regardless of the training location: Nîmes or Montpellier.

Two steps to follow:

  • STEP 1: PRIORITIZING OPTIONS

To help you prioritize your choices, the program selection application will be open from Friday, July 23, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. until Monday, July 26, 2021, at 9:00 a.m.
    • Specific features for Medicine and Midwifery:

Given the very tight deadlines, for each of these programs, you will select either the Montpellier or Nîmes campus after thesecondround of examsdirectly within the program selection app, prioritizing the campus that interests you most if you are admitted or placed on the waiting list for at least one of these two programs.

  • STEP 2: CONFIRM OR DECLINE THE OFFER OF ADMISSION

If you are admitted to an MMOP program, you must either accept or decline the offer .

Once Stage 1 is complete and the program selection application has closed, you will receive an email inviting you to review the results of your potential admission and to complete a questionnaire as soon as possible so that you can accept or decline your potential admission to an MMOP program.

IMPORTANT: YOU MUST CONFIRM YOUR ADMISSION OR YOU WILL LOSE YOUR PLACE!!

To help students prepare for their first year in the PASS and LAS programs, the health tutoring associations at the University of Montpellier (the Montpellier Health Tutoring Association, Nîmes Health Tutoring, and the Association of Pharmacy Tutors) are organizing a pre-semester orientation workshop to help students adjust to university life and gain a clear understanding of the year ahead.

The objectives of this internship

This workshop provides an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the key topics that will be covered in the first semester, to start finding your own work rhythm, and to gradually immerse yourself in a PASS or LAS program.

As a result, two separate SPRs will be organized:

  • FOR PASSES

A review course for PASS students, which will begin on August 23 and end on September 4 with a group exam.

  • FOR THE LAS

An orientation session for LAS students, scheduled for August 30 and 31, providing an introduction to the health minor.

The Pre-Semester Workshop for PASS Students

Registration for the PASS Pre-Semester Workshop costs €15, which covers the cost of printed handouts for the presentations. You must first register for the tutoring program; registration is free and open year-round (available here).

This SPR will take place from August 23 to September 4. It will be held in person at the respective locations of the three associations, namely:

ATSM

Arnaud de Villeneuve Site,

641 Doyen Gaston Avenue GIRAUD

34090 Montpellier

TSN

Carémeau Site,

186 Chemin du Carreau de Lanes

30,900 Nîmes

ATP

School of Pharmacy,

15 Charles FLAHAULT Avenue

This in-person orientation is designed to help students get acquainted with the university environment, build connections with one another, and meet the tutors they will be working with throughout the year.

Spotlight on: ADAC "Admitted Before Selection" Results

Candidates who are directly admitted following the first set of exams must:

>> confirm their acceptance of admission, specifying—if their name appears on multiple admission lists—the program in medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, or midwifery they have definitively chosen ; failure to do so will result in the loss of their admission and disqualification from taking the second set of exams for the program to which they were directly admitted. This agreement constitutes a waiver of the right to take the second set of exams.

Section III of Article 11 of the Order of November 11, 2019

The student must clearly state their decision:
>> either they explicitly accept the program to which they were admitted following the first round of exams, in which case they waive their right to participate in the second round of exams and the possibility of being admitted to another program;

>> or they may forfeit the results of the first set of exams and take the second set of exams to try again for admission to another program. They may also try again to gain admission to the program they previously passed up through direct admission. However, there is no guarantee that they will be admitted to that program.
