AMEO

AMEO (Montpellier Association of Orthoptics Students)

Overview

AMEO is a student association founded in 2008. It represents students in the orthoptics program and works to raise awareness of this profession. To this end, we participate in various events such as student fairs, university open houses, and many others, which allow us to inform people about the profession itself, the academic program, and internships.

AMEO ensures that students enjoy their studies and feel well integrated into the school. To this end, integration, social, and team-building events are organized regularly, such as crêpe sales, the end-of-year gala, and group orders for orthoptic equipment. Events are also held in collaboration with other organizations, such as “Hôpital des Nounours” and Sidaction.

Finally, AMEO acts as a liaison between all the associations of which it is a member, sharing information that is important and useful for studies and daily life in Montpellier. For example, AMEO has joined the FFEO (French Federation of Orthoptics Students), which represents all orthoptics students in France by strengthening the bond among students and helping to improve various aspects of our program.

AMEO has also joined AGEM (General Association of Montpellier Students), which brings together several student associations with which it collaborates on various projects. This provides an opportunity to meet students from a variety of fields.

AMEO is also a member of ADEMMOOS (Association of Student Representatives from Montpellier-Nîmes in Medicine, Speech-Language Pathology, Orthoptics, and Midwifery); this association represents students within the Faculty of Medicine and works to improve educational conditions and keep students informed.

In conclusion, to help you study with peace of mind, the AMEO executive board invites you to join us at the various events we’re organizing or at the Faculty of Medicine’s office!
