#AssoDeLaSemaine - Meeting with Tutorat Santé Nîmes

,

Earlier in the week, we met with the CNESF, the association of Nîmes' Maïeutique sector. We're staying in Nîmes today for our meeting with Matthias Daudé, the new president of TSN!

In a few words, what is the Tutorat Santé Nîmois?

The TSN (Tutorat Santé Nîmes) is an association of students in their 2nd and 3rd year of Medicine and Maieutics at the Nîmes site. We have all successfully passed the entrance exam for health studies, and it is on the strength of this experience that we offer support for students embarking on a first year of health access (PASS/LAS).

What activities or actions do you organize throughout the year?

Over the course of the year, students are offered weekly practice sessions in the form of MCQs, during which the tutors correct the MCQs in detail, provide mnemonics, work tips and support in exam preparation. All sessions are proofread by the tutors to ensure that they are as close as possible to final exam expectations.

In addition, we organize a Pre-Reentry course during the last two weeks of August. During these two weeks, we cover the program for the first semester, while giving as much advice as possible on the methodology to follow in this year of hard work.

We also offer practice tests and mock exams to prepare students for the exams with questions that have been re-read by our teachers.

What prompted you to join the association?

When I started studying healthcare, I didn't know about tutoring. At university, I soon heard about the association and the support it offered. I went along to one of the sessions and immediately saw the benefits this organization could bring me.

After passing the PACES entrance exam and entering health studies, I wanted to join the tutoring scheme to pass on my personal experience of the first year. I wanted to be able to help as many students as possible to progress towards their dream. It was natural for me to do everything I could to give back what I had received during my first year, because without tutoring I would never have passed the competitive entrance exam.

What does the association offer students?

The TSN provides PACES students with real pedagogical support through training sessions and question-and-answer sessions, as well as moral support by organizing activities for students. We also have a mentoring system where 2nd and 3rd year students take 1st year students under their wings to help them succeed.

Why do you think you should join your association?

Our association offers a wide range of educational and personal support services to help students make progress towards their goal of passing the entrance exams for the second year of health studies.

How do I join?

Tutoring is a totally free association! To join the tutoring program, all you have to do is follow the registration procedure, which will be detailed on our personal networks and on the faculty's registration page.

A few words about the 2020-2021 office?

For the TSN association, the election of the executive committee takes place in 2 phases.

It all starts with the formation of the Bureau Restreint (BR). Once the BR candidates have been formed, the campaign period begins, during which the various teams present their projects for the year. This year, because of the health crisis, all elections and campaigns took place online. Once the campaigns are over, all the 2nd and 3rd year tutors elect a BR, who then goes on to elect the other positions on the Board.

Once all the positions have been presented by BR, each tutor wishing to join the office prepares an application for the position. Nominations take place over a week. After this campaign period, the BR organizes the vote for positions with several candidates.

You can find us now on our social networks!

To conclude, we leave you with a video prepared with the three Montpellier Health Tutorates: the Association du Tutorat Santé de Montpellier (ATSM), the Association des Tuteurs en Pharmacie (ATP), and ourselves, the Tutorat Santé Nîmois (TSN)!
