A first for our Faculty! On Friday November 22, the Faculté de Médecine Montpellier-Nîmes opened its doors to the world of business for the first time, offering a unique, co-constructed training course to help industrialists gain a better understanding of the medical field.

A training program that has been in the making for several months

This innovative training program, run by Professor Boris Guiu, head of the diagnostic and interventional radiology department at Montpellier University Hospital's Hôpital Saint Eloi, and Dean Michel Mondain, was developed in conjunction with Quantum Surgical, a company specializing in surgical robotics. Comprising two modules, this training course was designed to reinforce employees' knowledge of the healthcare field, offering a basic foundation in surgery, anesthesia and interventional radiology, before moving on to a more specific foundation in liver cancer and percutaneous ablation.

Presentations by health professionals from CHU and ICM

The first edition of this training course enabled 15 of the company's employees to learn from healthcare professionals from the Faculty's partner structures: the CHU de Montpellier, the CHU de Nîmes and the ICM. This approach reflects the company's strong desire to foster greater collaboration between healthcare professionals and those working technically to build the medicine of tomorrow.

The Faculty listens to the sector's technical professionals

The Faculté de Médecine de Montpellier-Nîmes is well aware of the major changes taking place in the world of healthcare and the training needs of technical professionals in the sector, and is mobilizing its academic resources to meet the company's economic requirements. The Faculté de Médecine de Montpellier-Nîmes thus worked in collaboration with Quantum Surgical to design an à la carte training program tailored to the needs expressed by the company.
