What the wind erases - Photo exhibition - Olivier MARTEL

"The great adventure of life is to find where you feel good".

This quote from Sylvain Tesson sums up his quest for a place of harmony, where man can reconnect with nature, while rediscovering his own inner balance. It resonates with his journey from lawyer to landscape photographer, where nature becomes a space for contemplation and resilience.

He finds his inspiration in the great outdoors, and his photography, marked by an intimate sensitivity to the impermanence of things, is nourished by his solitary wanderings through silent, majestic landscapes.

His photographic work revolves around the Japanese notion of the mono no aware which is the art of seeing emotion in things and transcribing it, an art of the ephemeral and a melancholy-tinged attitude to impermanence.

Through his practice, Olivier Martel encourages the viewer to contemplate nature not as an object of possession, but as a fragile entity.
